East Anglia Each solid disc marks the site of a World War II airfield. Many of these still exist, and some have grown in size and sophistication to accommodate some of the world's most advanced aircraft. No comparable region in the world has seen as much air battle activity as East Anglia. |
Almost since the birth of flying, something of significance has been going on in the air over East Anglia. In fact, no area of the British Isles has seen quite as much air activity.
East Anglia's flat windswept landscape was the centre of both Britain's aerial defence and offence during World War II, and was the base for many famous flying missions such as the Dambusters and the Pathfinders. Well over a hundred airfields were constantly operational. It was also the home of the U.S.Eigth Air Force.
It was in the heart of this region that the Cirrus organisation was created. Founded in 1982, on the spirit of achievement of this area, Cirrus flying jackets are now acclaimed the world over.
The leather used by Cirrus is consistently the finest obtainable for the intended purpose. High quality materials combined with skilled tailoring, result in a recognisably distinctive garment which is long-lasting, as well as good-looking and comfortable.
Authentic in every detail, Cirrus flying jackets are superbly made and improve as the years pass.
Like the fine British leathers on which they are based, they are destined to be handed from one generation to another as treasured possessions.
