Guidelines

Please try to avoid getting your jacket, hat or bag soaking wet or very dirty.

Storage

If you are storing a Cirrus Jacket for a long period, please apply conditioning cream first and store it on a large wooden coat hangar in a well ventilated room, not too near a heat source and not in extreme cold.

Keep away from direct sunlight and chemicals and avoid high humidity, as this can promote the growth of mould.

The outside skin of your flying jacket or sheepskin helmet is Nappa Leather which is shower proof. When wet, please let it dry slowly, in a well ventilated room.

Cleaning and Conditioning Exterior Leather – Every 6 months

We recommend regularly treating the outer skin of your leather or sheepskin jacket with a high quality leather cream. We sell an excellent cream conditioner that nourishes leather and contains a hydrocarbon based water repellent. Do not use leather conditioners that contain waxes or silicone, they do not allow leather to breathe.

To apply; use a micro-fibre cloth and dampen it with water before applying a thin film of cream conditioner to the item. Always apply the cream to the cloth first, not directly onto the leather. Apply a light coat of cream to the whole surface of your garment or bag and repeat if required. Several light coats, applied at one hour intervals, are better than one heavy coating. If your jacket or bag is being used extensively, you may decide to treat it more often, say once a month. When applied, cream will tend to darken your jacket or bag slightly. This is normal. Sunlight fades leather over time and your Cirrus product will take on a beautiful aged or vintage look the more you use it.

Cleaning the Inside

Flying Jackets

Turn the jacket inside out, and gently hand wash the wool with our wool detergent. Please make sure the external leather nappa does not get too wet. Then allow the wool to dry naturally.

Leather Jackets

At your own risk, please consult a specialist dry cleaner.
