CARE OF YOUR CIRRUS JACKET
Sheepskin Jacket
Your sheepskin jacket made by Cirrus will give you years of untroubled wear if you follow these simple instructions:-
For the outside of the jacket, which we call the "Nappa leather side" is showerproof. When wet just hang the jacket in a well aired room. Do not put by a hot radiator. As the outside of the jacket is leather it should be treated as such. Every six months, Leather Food should be applied to the whole of the jacket (including back of collar).
If required Waterproof should then be applied, or Leather Wax depending on your choice. If your jacket is getting heavy use, i.e. getting wet every day, etc, then as having a good pair of leather boots/shoes, the above treatment should be done at least every month.
You will notice that if this is not done the colour on the Nappa side will begin to scuff and lighten. To some of our customers this is exactly what is desired.
To those of you that do not wish this change then follow the above instructions.
For the inside of the jacket, turn inside out and either HAND WASH with warm water/detergent mix (detergent that is suitable for wool), making sure that the Nappa leather side does not get too wet. Dry naturally. Another way is to turn jacket inside out and treat with dry carpet shampoo and then use a vacuum cleaner.
Leather Jacket
The leather jacket should be looked after as a pair of shoes, when the jacket is in daily use, Leather Food and Wax, etc treat as for the sheepskin jacket at least once a month.
